Overview

High-intensity chute magnet designed for gravity-fed chutes

These extremely powerful magnets are highly efficient at removing magnetic and para-magnetic particles from dry, free flowing powders and granules.

The chute magnet is designed to be incorporated in a vertical process line with a downward flow direction. A central angled deflector bar directs the product flow to pass into the deep magnetic field which is generated from the fixed high strength rare earth magnetic elements positioned on opposite faces on the housing body. Any ferrous contamination is then captured by the field and held securely onto the tapered catchment plates offering a safe area for the contamination to be held to prevent any contamination becoming dislodged by the product flow through the unit.

Each magnet pack is secured in place by a single toggle latch clamp which can only be released when a padlock is removed allowing the latch to be unclamped. FDA silicone sponge seals are secured to each side of the housing to provide a dust tight seal between the housing and magnet door. Door safety switches can be added as an option if required.

The modular concept used in the design of the chute magnet gives greater flexibility for using the standard unit in a wide variety and sizes of installations.The main body of the unit is in a square format onto which a wide range of transition pieces can be fitted to suit many different pipeline shapes and sizes. As the main body assembly can accept a range of inlet and outlet transition pieces, then the same size magnetic unit can be used at many installation positions, eliminating the need to stock a large quantity of spare parts for the process line.
