Indem man diese Magnete auf einen Stab schiebt, und dabei die Nordpole wie folgt anlegt: links, oben, rechts, unten, links – kann ein Halbach Array hergestellt werden. Ein Halbach-Array ist eine Anordnung von Dauermagneten, die das Magnetfeld auf eine Seite fokussiert. Auf dieser Seite wird das Magnetfeld fast doppelt so stark, auf der anderen nimmt es nahezu vollständig ab. Dies ist die eheste Lösung, mit der man einen Monopolmagneten erhält.
