High-operating temperature, thin, rectangular samarium cobalt (Sm2Co17) magnets, capable of operating in temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius with superb resistance to corrosion.
Samarium cobalt is a type of rare-earth magnet that has the ability to withstand and operate in high temperatures, however they are not as powerful as super-strong Neodymium magnets. Because of their high maximum operating temperature they are commonly used in applications such as motors and electric motors, turbo machinery and sensors. They also have many uses in engineering and manufacturing where size and strength is important, in fact two samarium cobalt magnets will attract each other with twice the force that they attract steel.
